This is my "interpretation" of the rules that the moderator, Kay Shapero, posts for the Fidonet FILK Echo (otherwise known as rec.music.filk).
(To the tune of Greensleeves, what else?! Well, maybe Gilligan's Island, I'll try that next. Remember, this sucker has TWO rhyme patterns, alternating between ABCB and AABC. At least, in the Christian version ("What Child Is This"); I don't remember enough of the REAL words.)
This echo is for songs and poems
And anything else to do with filk,
Like notices of cons and sings,
And reviews of similar ilk.Copyrights must be obeyed
Or the law will be on your haid.
Permission or anonymous
Authorship or pub-dom status.The posts will be collected by
The moderator who'll put them in
File to download or to freq
Or just to chuck in the trashbin.If you don't want your post
To be collected by our host,
Say so and she will leave
Your posting out of her file.Please tell us copyright data,
Especially if the song's not yours,
So she can put it in the file,
Instead of on birdcage floors.Don't flame back and forth,
Like Rebel South and Union North,
Unless you flame in filk,
Which may 'scape the wrath of the hostess!Offtopic threads which stray too far
Or travel on for way too long
Or devolve into flaming wars
